Certified Emissions Reductions - CERs Reducciones Certificadas de Emisiones - RCEs Units generated in the KP, according by the 12th Article of the protocol and the general dispositions fo the CDM Procedures. The units equivalence is one metric ton of carbon dioxide and the value is expresed in euros.
Clean Development Mechanism - CDM Mecanismo de Desarrollo Limpio - MDL It is KP instrument which objective is to help the Non Annex I parts to achieve a sustainable development, and for the Annex I parts to fullfill their compromises of GHG emissions limitations or reductions. The CDM projects goals is to reduce the antropogenic GHG emissions or to increase the absortion of them. See more
Climate Change Cambio Climático Climate variation produced in time intervals caused by changes in the solar radiation emissions or orbital parameters. In the carbon market, it is the human activities that can produce climate alterations (antropogenic climate change).

Designated National Authority Autoridad Nacional Designada - AND Is the designated authority of one part from the KP for review and national approval of CDM projects. Their functions are ruled by the MA.
Designated Operational Entity - DOE Entidad Operacional Designada - EOD Entity that has the faculties of validate CDM projects initiatives. Also the entity can validate and certified the amount of reduction of GHG emissions. The entity has to has the CDM EB approval and only perfomarce one of these activities: the validation or the verfication and certification; except in the small scale projects when the entity can performance both activities.
Energy Efficiency Eficiencia Energética See descripction
Environmental Law Derecho Ambiental See descripction
European Union Allowances - EUA Concesiones de la Unión Europea Indicator that determinate the price of the emissions that can be traded under the Emissions Trading scheme of KP. The exchange value of these allowances are in euros, and the equivalece is one metric ton of carbon dioxide per unit.
Executive Board for the CDM - EB Junta Ejecutiva del MDL - JE Organism in charge of the CDM supervison and funtionalitiy. Their authority and direction are subcripted from the KP Conferece Parties, and their funtions and structure are described by the MA.
Fossil Fuels Combustibles Fósiles Fuels derivated from organic compounds that contains carbon and hydrogen. One of them is coal, oil (petroleum) and natural gas. The combustion of these fuels frees CO2.
Global Warming Potencial - GWP Potencial de Calentamiento Atmosférico Global - PCAG Indicator that describes the radioactivity characteristics of the GHG. In other words, is the combined effect of the time diferences of each GHG presence in the athmosphere and their relative efficiency of infrared radiation absovation.
Greenhouse Effect Efecto Invernadero Athmosphere lower capes warming that are produced when certain gases can't allow that some part of the radiation spectrum form the ground and the athmosphere be trasmited out to space.
Greenhouse Gases - GHG Gases de Efecto Invernadero - GEI Anthropogenic gases that produce the overwarming effect in the earth superfice (greenhouse effect) and are typefied by the UNFCCC as the emissions that would be reduced to avoid the prejuditial climate change. The gases that are listed by the UNFCCC are: Carbon dioxide (CO2) methane (CH4), nitrate oxid (N2H), hydrofluorecarbonate (HFCs), perfluorecarbonate (PFCs), sulfur hexafluorure (SF6).
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - IPCC Panel Intergubernamental sobre el Cambio Climático Expert groups that make rigurous scientific and technicals studies of world issues. Their publications and evaluations are consider as valid sources of information on climate change and they made specified documents and methodologies for World Weather Organization and United Nations.
Kyoto Protocol - KP Protocolo de Kioto - PK International legal instrument developed by the UNFCCC with the objective of reduce the GHG emissions. The particulary compromises of each country with the Kyoto Protocol are defined by their develompent level: 1) Annex I: Developed countries and countries in process that are in a market economic transition; y 2) Non Annex I: rest of the countries. These compromises can be assumed individually or as block, like the European Union, in a period of 5 years between 2008 and 2012, by reducing at least 5% of the anthropogenic GHG emssions reported in 1990.
Marrakech Accords - MA Acuerdos de Marrakech - AM Adopted of joint choices by the UNFCCC in their seventh meeting in Marrakech in 2001. They are the scential core of normativities for interpretations and appliance of the KP schemes.

Project Activity Actividad de Proyecto In a CDM context, is the measure, operation or action that has the goal of the reduction of GHG emissions. The project activities are more restrictive than the whole project. In a not CDM context, the project activities are the measure, operation or action that has the goal of fullfill the steps to reach the solutions of a project.

Project Design Document - PDD Documento Diseño del Proyecto -DDP Document required in the CDM normativitiy that allows de DOE to determinate if the project: has been approved by the involved parts, can reduce the GHG emissions and, it has an apropiated baseline reference and monitoring plan. See more
Project Idea Note - PIN Nota Idea de Proyecto Document requiered by the DNA to determinate if the CDM project can reduce the GHG emissions and if it has an apropiated base line reference and monitoring plan. See more
Unitary Cost Transport - UCT Costo Unitario de Transporte - CUT Is the cost in the process of deliver a unit of product expressed in "cost per unit product", where the cost of a fleet is equal to the cost of an event per service. See more
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change - UNFCCC Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático - CMNUCC A United Nations organism to attend climate change and supervise the KP activities and their schems for Annex I (Emissions Tradings & Joint Implementation) and Non Annex I (CDM) countries. See more
Verified Emissions Reductions - VERs Reducciones Verificadas de Emisiones - RVEs Units generated by some organizations outside the KP schemes. The units equivalence is one metric ton of carbon dioxide and the value is expresed in american dollars.
